Ellie & Starlight Cast Announced

We are delighted to announce the cast of Ellie & Starlight’s Christmas Adventure.

The show will run from 13th – 24th December at the Cecil Hepworth Playhouse in Walton on Thames with performances at 11am and 2pm.

Jessica O’Toole – Ellie

Jessica trained at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. Most recently in 2023, Jessica played ‘Lola’ in ‘Girl Talk’ and ‘Jo’ in ‘Jo & Sam’ for ‘Art From The Heart’ at the Southwark Playhouse. Other roles in new writing pieces include, ‘B’ in ‘Tea Hun?’, ‘Lorna’ in ‘Neighbourhood Watch’ and ‘Elsie’ in ‘The Cabin’ (Director’s Cut Theatre) as well as playing ‘Paula’ in the 1940s-based new musical, ‘The Truth Stops Here’ (19 Steps Productions). Recent film credits include ‘Sheila’ in biopic ’Sheila’s Story’ (Positively UK) and ‘Elisa’ in ‘Broken Pieces’ (One in Four/Media Trust). This autumn Jessica will be appearing in and directing the film – ‘Margot,’which she has written. She can also be seen in Season 6 of ‘The Crown’ on Netflix.

Jessica is really excited to be playing ‘Ellie’ in ‘Ellie & Starlight’s Christmas Adventure’ in such a heart-warming and magical story.

Paul Thirkell – Starlight

Paul trained at Birmingham School of Acting where he graduated in 2012 with a BA (Hons).

Theatre credits include: The Importance of Being Earnest, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, The Picture of Dorian Gray, Animal Farm (European Arts Company) George’s Marvellous Medicine (Birmingham Stage Company) Living a Little (Riot House Theatre) Misalliance (Michael Friend Productions) and Cinderella (Colour House Theatre).

He is absolutely thrilled to be working with Stephen Leslie Productions and is utterly delighted to be playing Starlight.

He’s also looking forward to scoffing many mince pies over the festive season.

Jake Alun – Narrator

Jake trained at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. 

Theatre includes: Gerald the Elephant in Elephant and Piggie’s “We Are In A Play!” (Perform in the Park), Terrance in Kin: The Musical (Emil Dale/Stefan Kelk), Linguini Bunga in Bunga Va Pazza (Inception Group), Vocalist in Thursford Christmas Spectacular (Thursford Collection), Simon in Spitfire (Workshop w. Theatrical Productions), Horatio in Little Red Riding Hood (Hertford Theatre), Antigonus in The Winter’s Tale (Moving Stories Ltd.), Morpheus in Somniatis (New Wimbledon Studio Theatre).

Recordings include: The Pantomime Life of Joseph Grimaldi (Dan & Laura Curtis), The Singing Cakes in The Great British Bake Off Promo (Channel 4), Marry Me A Little Orchestral Song Cycle (Julian Kelly MD/Stephen Sondheim), Only Boys Aloud Album Recording (Syco).

May 2024 Update
There are times throughout the year when I feel snowed under, there are times throughout the year when I wonder what will come next and then there are times that are filled with excitement!  The month of May has certainly been the latter.
